Safeguarding, Child Protection & E-Safety Policy (Updated 27/01/26)


1. Introduction
● Bedford Tutor is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people. We believe that no child or young person should ever experience abuse of any kind and recognise our responsibility to act at all times in the best interests of the children we work with.
● ​Safeguarding underpins every aspect of Bedford Tutor’s work and applies to all forms of tuition, including visiting, online, and hybrid sessions.

2. Scope of This Policy

□ all children and young people receiving tuition
□ all safeguarding, child protection, and e-safety practices within the business

3. Key Safeguarding Principles
● Tutors working at Bedford Tutor recognise that:
□ the welfare of the child is paramount
□ all children, regardless of age, disability, gender, racial heritage, religious belief, sexual orientation, or identity,
have the right to equal protection from harm
□ some children may be more vulnerable due to previous experiences, additional needs, communication difficulties, or dependency
□ safeguarding is most effective when working in partnership with children, parents, carers, and relevant agencies

4. Purpose of This Policy
● The purpose of this policy is to:
□ protect children and young people who receive tuition from Bedford Tutor
□ provide tutors with clear principles that guide safeguarding and child protection practice

5. How Bedford Tutor Safeguards Children

● Tutors recognise that:

8.2 How Bedford Tutor Promotes E-Safety
● Bedford Tutor promotes e-safety by:

□ encouraging parents and carers to support safe technology use at home
□ dealing firmly, fairly, and consistently with inappropriate ICT use

□ providing ongoing guidance and training for tutors

9. Use of Images and Digital Content
● Images of children or young people will:
□ never be used without written parental consent
□ be used only for the specific purpose agreed
□ never include identifying information

10. Review of This Policy
● Bedford Tutor is committed to reviewing this Safeguarding, Child Protection, and E-Safety Policy 
annually, or sooner if legislation or guidance changes.
