​🏡 In-Person Tuition in Bedford

We offer personalised one-to-one English and maths tuition through a flexible hybrid approach that combines the benefits of predominantly in-person learning with the convenience of online tuition when required. This ensures continuity, flexibility and personalised support throughout your child’s learning journey. In-person sessions are available Monday to Friday between 3:45pm and 6:35pm, together with Saturday morning appointments.

Most lessons take place in-person in Bedford within a calm, welcoming learning environment where students feel comfortable, supported and ready to learn. Sessions are carefully tailored to each learner’s individual strengths, needs and goals, using a combination of hands-on resources, discussion, practical activities and personalised teaching strategies to build confidence, develop skills and encourage a positive attitude towards learning.

Alongside our face-to-face teaching, online learning forms an important part of our hybrid approach. Families attending in-person sessions should also feel comfortable accessing online tuition when required, allowing learning to continue seamlessly during illness, adverse weather, timetable changes or other unforeseen circumstances.

Having both in-person and online options available helps maintain consistency, routine and continuity, whilst providing families with greater flexibility and reassurance throughout the academic year.

We provide specialist online tuition in Primary English, Primary Maths, Creative Writing, GL Assessments, Functional Skills and iGCSE English for students across the UK and worldwide. We regularly support families living throughout the Middle East and Asia, including Holland, the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Thailand, while also working with learners in many other countries around the world. Our flexible online lessons enable students following the British Curriculum and a wide range of international educational programmes to access personalised one-to-one support wherever they live, helping them build strong foundations, confidence and a lifelong love of learning.

Our online lessons provide the same personalised, high-quality approach as our in-person tuition, with sessions carefully adapted to suit each student’s individual strengths, learning style and confidence level. Lessons are interactive, engaging and designed to build both academic skills and self-belief, using discussion, visual resources, screen sharing and tailored learning activities.

Online tuition offers families flexibility, consistency and access to specialist support from the comfort of home. Whether a student attends school, is home educated, studies within the British or American Curriculum, or lives overseas, our goal is to help learners build confidence, develop skills and achieve their potential.

Kite Tutoring is the online division of Bedford Tutor, bringing our specialist, personalised approach into the online classroom.

Online learning does not have to mean sitting quietly in front of a screen. Our sessions are active, visual and carefully structured, with opportunities to talk, think, explore ideas and practise skills in different ways. We use interactive resources, games, visual prompts, screen sharing and tailored activities to keep learners involved and make learning memorable.

Our experience supporting children with dyslexia, ADHD, dyscalculia, autism and other additional learning needs shapes the way we teach online. We recognise that children do not all learn in the same way, so activities can be adapted as we go, whether a learner needs more visual support, repetition, movement, smaller steps or a different way of explaining an idea.

We also understand that confidence can have just as much impact on progress as academic ability. Our online sessions are designed to create a calm, encouraging space where children can make mistakes, ask questions and gradually become more independent learners. The aim is not simply to complete a worksheet or get the right answer, but to help each child understand how they learn best and feel increasingly confident in their own abilities.

We also work with students who find traditional classroom environments challenging or who benefit from a more personalised approach to education.

Founded by Annabel Walker, who has ADHD herself, Bedford Tutor and its online division, Kite Tutoring, combine over fourteen years of educational experience with a personal understanding of the challenges many learners face. Tuition is carefully tailored to each student’s individual strengths, needs and goals, helping to build confidence, develop independence and create a positive learning experience where learners feel understood, supported and successful.

We work with home-educated students across the UK, alongside learners attending mainstream schools, international schools, online schools and bilingual schools worldwide. We also support students following the British Curriculum, American Curriculum and a range of international educational programmes.

Our flexible, personalised approach allows lessons to be adapted to each student’s educational background, learning profile and academic goals, helping learners make meaningful progress in a way that works for them.
