Creative Writing Tuition for In-Person & Online Students

At Bedford Tutor and our online division, Kite Tutoring, we help children develop creativity and confidence through personalised Creative Writing tuition, available in person and online.

⭐️ Helping Young Writers Find Their Voice

Creative writing gives children the opportunity to express their ideas, explore their imagination and develop confidence as writers. At Bedford Tutor and our online division, Kite Tutoring, we provide personalised one-to-one creative writing tuition for children aged 5 to 14 in Bedford and online for learners aged 5-16 across the UK and internationally. Whether your child enjoys creating stories, needs support developing their writing skills or would benefit from greater confidence when putting ideas onto paper, lessons are carefully tailored to their age, ability and interests. By encouraging creativity alongside strong literacy foundations, we help children become thoughtful, expressive and independent writers who enjoy writing for both school and personal enjoyment.

Strong creative writing skills support much more than storytelling. They help children organise their thoughts, communicate effectively, expand their vocabulary and develop the confidence to express themselves clearly across all areas of the curriculum. By nurturing imagination alongside essential literacy skills, we encourage children to become curious, reflective and capable writers who are equipped not only for success at school, but for lifelong learning and communication. ↑ Back to top

✏️ Creative Writing for Primary Students

For younger learners, creative writing is about building confidence while developing the essential skills needed for successful writing. Through engaging activities, imaginative prompts and personalised guidance, children learn how to create memorable characters, exciting settings and well-structured stories whilst developing vocabulary, grammar, punctuation and sentence structure naturally within their writing. Our lessons encourage curiosity, creativity and a genuine enjoyment of language, helping children become confident communicators who are well prepared for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 English, as well as supporting wider literacy development across the curriculum. ↑ Back to top

✍️ Creative Writing for Secondary Students

As students move into secondary education, creative writing becomes an important way to strengthen communication, critical thinking and self-expression. Lessons focus on developing individual writing style, crafting compelling narratives and experimenting with different genres while continuing to refine technical accuracy and language choices. Whether a student wants to build confidence in descriptive writing, improve storytelling techniques, prepare for GCSE-style imaginative writing tasks or simply develop a lifelong enjoyment of writing, tuition is personalised to their individual goals. By combining creativity with strong literacy skills, we help students become confident, articulate writers who are equipped for success throughout their education and beyond. ↑ Back to top

Creative Writing for Reluctant Writers

Discover how creative writing can help even the most reluctant writers find their voice. Learn practical ways to build confidence, spark imagination and turn writing from a source of frustration into an enjoyable, rewarding experience.

💫 Supporting Individual Learning Needs

Students learn differently, which is why every creative writing lesson is carefully planned around their individual strengths, interests and learning needs. Whether your child has special educational needs, including dyslexia, ADHD or autism, or simply benefits from personalised one-to-one support, lessons are adapted to help them develop confidence and express their ideas in ways that suit them best. We understand that writing can feel overwhelming for some learners, so we create a calm, encouraging environment where creativity can flourish without fear of making mistakes. By building confidence alongside strong literacy skills, we help children discover the enjoyment of writing whilst developing communication skills that will benefit them throughout their education and beyond. ↑ Back to top
