Strong mathematical foundations begin long before SATs or secondary school. We provide personalised Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 maths tuition for children aged 5 to 11, available both online and in person, helping them develop confidence, understanding and a genuine enjoyment of maths. Rather than relying on worksheets or repetitive practice alone, our lessons focus on building secure foundations, closing gaps in learning and developing the mathematical thinking children need throughout primary school. Lessons are carefully tailored to each child’s age, ability and learning style, ensuring they receive the support and challenge they need to flourish.

Many of the children we support have ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, autism and other special educational needs or disabilities (SEND). With over fourteen years of experience working with neurodivergent learners, we understand that children approach mathematics differently. Rather than expecting children to fit a particular teaching method, we adapt our lessons to suit the individual, using creative, engaging and personalised approaches that build confidence alongside mathematical understanding. Our specialist Key Stage 1 maths tuition helps younger learners build the essential mathematical skills that underpin future success. Lessons focus on developing number recognition, counting, place value, addition, subtraction, early multiplication and division, shapes, measurement and mathematical vocabulary, helping children gain confidence through understanding rather than memorisation.

Through engaging, hands-on activities and practical problem solving, we encourage children to develop a positive attitude towards maths while building the confidence to explain their thinking and apply their knowledge in different situations. Lessons are carefully adapted to suit each child’s stage of development, ensuring they feel successful while making steady, meaningful progress.

Our specialist Key Stage 2 maths tuition helps children strengthen the mathematical skills needed for the later years of primary school while developing the confidence to become independent problem solvers and logical thinkers. Lessons focus on number, arithmetic, fractions, decimals, percentages, measurement, geometry, statistics, reasoning and problem solving, alongside mathematical communication that supports learning across the curriculum.

Rather than simply preparing children for SATs or practising test questions, we prioritise building secure mathematical foundations and developing a genuine understanding of concepts. Children learn to apply their knowledge, explain their reasoning, solve increasingly complex problems and approach unfamiliar questions with confidence, equipping them with skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

As children’s confidence and understanding grow, they naturally become more willing to tackle new mathematical concepts, think critically and solve problems independently. SATs Maths Success Through Understanding

Our SATs Maths tuition helps children develop the mathematical knowledge, reasoning and problem-solving skills they need for Year 6 assessments through engaging, personalised lessons that build confidence rather than pressure.

Rather than spending lessons working through endless past papers, we focus on developing secure mathematical understanding through games, practical activities, puzzles and real-life problem-solving. Children build confidence with number, calculation, fractions, decimals, percentages, geometry and reasoning while learning to explain their thinking and apply their knowledge in different contexts.

Lessons are designed around the individual child. We adapt teaching to support children with dyscalculia, ADHD, autism and other SEND needs, using structured, multi-sensory approaches that reduce maths anxiety and make learning more accessible. By identifying and addressing gaps in understanding, we help children develop secure foundations instead of relying on memorising methods for a test.
