💡 Inspiring a Love of Learning!

🌏 Online Tuition for Home-Educating Families in the UK

Home-educated children follow unique learning journeys. At Kite Tutoring, the online division of Bedford Tutor, we have been providing personalised one-to-one online tuition for over ten years in Primary English, Primary Maths, iGCSE English Language, and Functional Skills English and Maths, supporting learners throughout their education. Our focus is on building secure foundations, developing confidence and fostering a genuine love of learning through engaging, individualised lessons. Sessions take place during weekday mornings and are carefully tailored to each student’s age, ability, interests and learning style, helping them become confident, independent learners ready for long-term success.

Many home-educated children have additional learning needs or have found that mainstream education was not the right fit for them. We have extensive experience supporting students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia, anxiety and confidence challenges, creating personalised lessons that work with each child’s strengths rather than expecting them to fit a single approach. Sessions are carefully adapted to remove barriers to learning, helping children build confidence, develop independence and make meaningful progress at a pace that suits them. Our calm, supportive teaching encourages curiosity, resilience and a genuine enjoyment of learning, laying strong foundations for long-term academic success. ↑ Back to top

“It’s Given Us That Little Bit of Structure – But in a Totally Fun Way!”

★★★★★

Wow, wow, wow! I am SO glad we found Bedford Tutor. I am at the start of my home education journey with my son and it’s given us that little bit of structure, but in a totally fun way! Leo is SO excited for his sessions with Annabel.

I wanted face-to-face learning initially but honestly, I am so glad we have gone online. It just works.

Annabel is knowledgeable, kind, fun and most importantly has built a relationship with my son. Please, if you are on the fence about online learning for your children, just give it a try! I am so, so pleased we went ahead!

Thank you so much!”

Yes. We support home-educated families across the UK and internationally. Having worked with families in different countries and time zones, we understand the needs of learners following British curriculum pathways while living overseas.

We provide personalised online home education tuition in primary English, maths, creative writing and GL Assessment preparation for children aged 5 to 11. For children who need more targeted SEND support, we also offer our specialist Diamond Spelling & Reading and Delta Maths & Mastery programmes for learners aged 7 to 11, designed to support dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism and other learning differences. Lessons are carefully tailored to each child’s individual needs, helping them build confidence and make meaningful progress.

We provide personalised online home education tuition in creative writing, GL English Assessment preparation, iGCSE English Language and Functional Skills English and maths for students aged 11 to 16. We also offer our specialist Diamond Spelling & Reading and Delta Maths & Mastery programmes for learners aged 11 to 14, providing targeted SEND support for students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism and other learning differences. Yes. Supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is one of our areas of expertise. We have extensive experience working with learners with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism and other learning differences, adapting online lessons to suit each child’s individual strengths, challenges and learning style. Alongside personalised English and maths tuition, we also offer our specialist Diamond Spelling & Reading and Delta Maths & Mastery programmes, providing targeted support for learners who benefit from a structured, multisensory approach. Whether your child has a formal diagnosis or simply benefits from a more personalised approach, we provide patient, supportive tuition that builds confidence alongside strong English and maths skills.

Yes. We support many learners who speak English as an additional language. Lessons develop vocabulary, reading, writing, grammar and spoken English while building confidence in using English across the curriculum.

A typical home-education lesson is flexible and shaped around what your child needs to learn, rather than following a rigid classroom structure. We might begin by revisiting something from a previous session, introduce a new skill, and then practise it through a mixture of discussion, games, practical activities and interactive resources. Sessions can also follow your child’s interests, using topics they enjoy to make reading, writing and maths more meaningful. If your child is working towards a particular curriculum or assessment, we can build those requirements into the lessons while still keeping learning relaxed and engaging. We can also focus on filling gaps, strengthening foundations or developing confidence in areas where your child has found learning difficult. The aim is to give home-educated children the structure and specialist support they need while preserving the flexibility, creativity and individuality that makes home education work so well.

Absolutely. We adapt lessons to suit your chosen home education approach, whether you follow a structured curriculum, British curriculum objectives, project-based learning or a more flexible educational pathway. Our online tuition complements your family’s educational goals rather than replacing them.

Each child follows a unique learning journey, so we never use a one-size-fits-all programme. Lessons are carefully planned around your child’s age, ability, interests and goals. Whether they need to strengthen core literacy and numeracy skills, prepare for future qualifications or simply rediscover a love of learning, we create a flexible online programme that adapts as they grow.

🌿 Flexible Daytime Online Tuition for Home-Educated Learners

Our weekday online morning sessions provide flexible educational support for homeschooled students aged 5-16. Whether a child requires structured English and maths tuition, additional support in specific areas, or a confidence-building approach tailored to their individual needs, lessons are designed around the learner rather than a fixed curriculum timetable.

Home-educated children follow unique educational journeys, and our personalised one-to-one lessons allow learning to be adapted to each student’s age, ability, interests and goals. Sessions can complement an existing programme, provide additional structure and routine, or help children develop specific skills and knowledge in a supportive and engaging environment. By tailoring lessons to the individual rather than a standardised classroom approach, we aim to help students build confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.

Parents are kept informed throughout the learning journey, with lessons evolving as children grow in confidence and ability. Whether your family is home educating full-time, flexi-schooling, travelling, or seeking additional weekday educational support, we provide a calm, welcoming learning environment where children are encouraged to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Our aim is not only to develop knowledge and skills, but also to nurture independent learners who feel confident approaching new challenges both inside and outside the classroom. ↑ Back to top

💫 Supporting Learners with Additional Needs?

We provide personalised support for students with a wide range of additional needs, including ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia, anxiety, low confidence, executive functioning difficulties and processing challenges. Every child learns differently, and we believe that understanding how a child learns is just as important as what they learn. Lessons are carefully adapted to suit each student’s individual strengths, interests, learning style and educational goals, helping them to feel understood, supported and successful.

Online tuition can offer a calm, flexible learning environment for children who find traditional classroom settings challenging, are experiencing school-related anxiety, emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), or are currently unable to attend school due to medical, emotional or other personal circumstances. For many students, learning from home can reduce pressure and create a more comfortable environment in which confidence can gradually be rebuilt.

Our one-to-one approach allows lessons to progress at a pace that feels manageable for the learner, providing opportunities to revisit concepts, strengthen understanding and celebrate success along the way. By creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment, we help students develop confidence, independence and a more positive relationship with learning, while continuing to build essential English and maths skills. ↑ Back to top
