About Us
Bedford Tutor is a small, family-run tuition service with over fourteen years of experience supporting children’s learning. Through our welcoming in-person and hybrid tuition in Bedford, alongside our online division, Kite Tutoring, we provide personalised learning for children aged 5 to 16 locally, across the UK and around the world.
Everything we do is shaped by a deep understanding of SEND, child development and the importance of building confidence through positive relationships. We believe children learn best when they feel safe, supported and understood, creating the foundations they need to enjoy learning and reach their full potential.
Our teaching is calm, creative and carefully structured, whether children are learning in person, through a hybrid approach or online with Kite Tutoring. Lessons are thoughtfully tailored to each child’s individual needs, interests and learning style, helping them develop confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning. Combining professional knowledge with lived experience, we create an environment where children feel accepted, capable and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Helena Judith Walker
Annabel Louise
Full Time Tutor
(5-16 Year Olds)
Annabel Louise founded Bedford Tutor on 31st October 2012 after completing her History degree with The Open University. From the very beginning, Annabel’s aim was “to make learning fun”, and this remains the core philosophy at Bedford Tutor today.
Before setting up Bedford Tutor, Annabel worked as a children’s entertainer, running a successful business that she established while still in sixth form. When Bedford Tutor became a full-time venture in 2015, Annabel chose to close her entertainment business in order to focus fully on tutoring and developing her educational work.
Over the past fourteen years, Annabel has supported students from a wide range of educational backgrounds, including families living throughout the UK, Middle East and Asia.
An imaginative and energetic individual, Annabel is a proud ADHDer and thrives on running a creative, child-centred business. With a close family member on the autism spectrum, she brings both personal understanding and empathy to her work with neurodivergent children. Over the past thirteen years, she has completed a wide range of qualifications related to tutoring, learning, and child development. She has also passed on much of this knowledge to Helena, who works closely with Annabel to devise new and innovative styles of teaching.
