Well Done, Miles, on this beautiful drawing which was completed at home after a history-themed lesson.
I just had to share this child's (7 years old) wonderful drawing which complemented her fabulous writing on 'The Seaside/Beach'. 'Golden Drawing Time' is a great reward for children who have tried hard for the duration of their lesson and, for many, the chance to show-off creative skills does boost both self-esteem and writing.
On Sunday, two of my regular pupils were brave enough to try eight different herbs from 'The Dove Garden'. They wrote a sentence about each herb, noting its taste, texture and (of course) whether they enjoyed it or not. Both children enjoyed the taste and texture of young orach leaves, and the chocolate mint was a firm favourite. Trying new flavours is one way of exploring sensory language and promoting healthy foods is always encouraged at Bedford Tutor.
